Cornwall's Eden Project is a pretty unique wedding venue. As far as I am aware there aren't many wedding venues in the UK that host their very own rain forest and Mediterranean climates. Who wants to jet off to the other side of the world when you can get married in the rain forest right here in the UK? To get the opportunity to film a wedding at the Eden Project was a real pleasure for us and we knew it would be a special wedding in a magnificent location.
Betsy and Ben came all the way from Washington in the United States of America to get married in the heart of Cornwall at the beautiful Eden Project. I was initially a little surprised Besty and Ben were coming all that way to get married here in the UK but after a quick search of the Eden Project on Google, it started to all make sense.
Sustainability is at the heart of what the Eden Project stands for. Connecting us to our living world, our living environment is what it's all about and is a major part of the message that they hope to convey. We thought it was very fitting that the Ben touched on this in his speech and absolutely loved his quote "if there is anything that binds us all together, it's that we're all dependent on the same basics to keep us all alive, we all need sunlight, we all need water, we all need plants, if we could all respect that and fulfill that more then I think we would all understand that we're all not that different and for today at least in my eyes, we're all one thing and united in the celebration of the oldest tradition that us humans have. It's a beautiful thing and I am never going to forget this day."
Kylie and I spend a lot of time exploring the Cornish coastline due to having close family there and we've always wanted to film more weddings in Cornwall. Filming Ben and Betsy's wedding was most definitely one of our highlights from 2016. We feel honoured they choose Storybox Films to film their wedding in such a magical place.
