It feels like it's been a lifetime since I last posted anything here! Truth be told we've been super busy filming and photographing weddings all over the country which has turned out to be our busiest year to date. Right, let's get to it! We've been itching to share this wedding film with you guys for some time now, but before you hit the play button please take the time to read a little below about how Alex and Sam met.
We filmed Alex and Sam's wedding at one of the best wedding venues in Devon, Pynes House. Pynes House really does hold a special place in our hearts, the place is simply stunning and in our opinion the perfect place to get married. We love everything about it!
To the story... Alex met Sam at the local pub where Sam worked as a bartender 10 days after arriving in the UK from America on a study abroad program. Alex and four other girls managed to snag a table directly across from the bar and Alex volunteered to go up and order which ended up being their very first meeting.
Alex didn't notice Sam when she had first arrived but the moment Alex walked up to the bar and Sam caught her eyes she turned 10 shades of red, stumbled over her words, and awkwardly walked back to where her friends were sitting. As the night went on, Alex plucked up the courage and nervously made her way to the bar.
The night was getting on and Alex psyched herself up enough to go and talk to him. Luckily, Sam was still manning the bar and there was literally no one else there ordering anything. They spoke for about five minutes and Alex found out Sam was moving to Vancouver B.C. in just over five weeks. Alex's heart sank and knew at that point nothing more could ever come from this chance encounter.
The next day Alex was celebrating Austraila Day with friends. Later on that night
Alex was quickly approached by a couple of friends telling her that "Sam the sexy bartender" would also be out. To Alex's surprise, that very night Sam approached Alex and asked for her number. Less than a week later they had their first date, which quickly turned into a whirlwind romance lasting just over 5 weeks, and then an even more intense 2-year long distance relationship, and the rest is history.
Alex and Sam's love story will always stay with us. It just goes to show true love is not a fairy tale, rather true love is all about facing challenges and overcoming the hurdles to make life what you want it to be. Kylie and I are blessed to get this insight into people's lives and we are so grateful that couples trust us to tell their story.
Alex and Sam's wedding day was pure perfection. It was a pleasure meeting you both and filming your special day. We wish you both the very best for the future. You guys are amazing!

I cannot recommend Storybox Films enough. James and Kylie captured our wedding in April and did an absolutely stunning job on it. Not only were they both so incredibly friendly, accommodating, and professional but they also made me and my husband feel so comfortable on our wedding day. James made the whole process so easy and the questionnaire that he sent out prior to our wedding actually helped me time a lot of the day of prep.
They arrived on time with warm smiles and a calmness that made me feel right at ease with them. Both my husband and I felt like we had just made two new friends by the end of our wedding day and wished they could have stayed to dance with us. They worked so effortlessly as a team and with our photographer that we forgot that we were being filmed for a lot of the day.
The films that they gave us were breathtaking and exceeded all of our expectations. All our friends and family can't get over how beautiful they turned out and we will cherish them forever. I feel so fortunate to have found them and will recommend them to anyone that's getting married. James and Kylie, you both rocked our wedding and I wish you all the best in the future.
