Markus & Olivia’s Wedding Day at Hestercombe House & Gardens in Somerset
Markus and Olivia celebrated their wedding day at the stunning Hestercombe House & Gardens, located in the beautiful county of Somerset not far from the town of Taunton. This venue boasts fifty acres of meticulously landscaped gardens, adding an enchanting touch to their special day. The wedding was nothing short of romantic and emotional, with a hint of elegance.

Creating cinematic wedding films
As the wedding cinematographers, our role was to capture the essence and memorable moments of Markus and Olivia's wedding day. Cinematography goes beyond a traditional wedding video, as it captures real moments whilst keeping a cinematic feel to the film. Our aim was to produce a cinematic wedding film that would evoke emotions and transport viewers back to that incredible day.
The ceremony at Shapwick church
Before the celebrations took place, Markus and Olivia exchanged vows at Shapwick Church in Somerset. This particular location held great sentiment for Markus, as it is where he spent his childhood. The ceremony was filled with love and joy, making it a truly special moment for the couple and their loved ones.
The wedding flowers, provided by Bramble and Wild, were a unique and unexpected delight. Rather than selecting a specific arrangement, the flowers were chosen based on what would be in full bloom on the wedding day. This meant that Markus and Olivia had no idea what their bouquet would actually look like until the day arrived. The element of surprise added an extra touch of magic to their wedding day.
Markus and Olivia's wedding at Hestercombe Gardens was a truly captivating and beautiful affair. From their sentimental ceremony at Shapwick Church to the delightful wedding flowers, every detail added to the overall charm of the day. As wedding cinematographers, we were honored to be a part of their journey and to immortalize their love story through our storytelling.
Why did you choose Hestercombe House & Gardens to be your wedding venue?
Markus was christened at the church, which is located in a village that has been part of Markus’ family lives for 50 years. The church itself is beautiful but also not too large or grand which we love. For the reception, Hestercombe is a lovely mix of formal and landscaped gardens. There is so much nature, greenery, and life there. There’s a terrace, a waterfall, and lots of potential locations! It’s also 5 minutes from where we live - it feels like our own local ‘national trust’.
What will make your wedding at Hestercombe House & Gardens unique?
Sounds like a cop-out answer - but our guests! There will be no other time this many people from our lives, with this mix of everyone, will be together again. It will be amazing having them all together. We want to put on a great day for them and just hope everyone has a great time, and hopefully, this is reflected in the film.
Plants and flowers - we visit Hestercombe several times a year, and the plants change day to day, year to year. It’s beautiful, but not too manicured - lots of things growing out of walls! We’ve also chosen a wild wedding package for the bridal party flowers and table arrangements, meaning they’ll be an eclectic mixture of flowers, based on what grows best on the day, and we’ve no idea what they’ll be! This mystery is one of the things Livi is most excited about on the day.
Markus is an illustrator. So rather than a photo booth to capture our guests, we have opted for a talented illustrator! She can paint 1 couple in about 10 minutes, and it gives our guests something tangible to take away from the day. We hope it’ll add a nice buzz to the day. Her specialty is fashion, and her work will capture our guest's unique style, each dressed in what they feel great in.
How did you find us to be your wedding cinematographer and why did you choose us to capture your day?
Via Google. We did a lot of searching and watched a lot of other videos from other cinematographers, but watching your videos elicited a lot of emotions, even when we had no idea who these couples were! They all look beautifully shot, the music choices were always perfectly suited, and they do a great job of capturing the tone of the day.
