Wedding Video Filmed at Chatea Rigaud in South-West France

Emily + Nick

So, we can now officially call ourselves a destination wedding videographer. I can't express how amazing it feels to finally say that. Back in 2015 when we set out on this journey we could only imagine what it would be like to film weddings around the world. Ok, I know what you're thinking, its only France but its a big deal to us and we've made huge strides since starting out  3 years ago.

I clearly remember when Emily and Nick contacted us back in November 2016 to film their wedding at the Chateau Rigaud in South-West France, Situated between Bordeaux and Bergerac. It was our first enquiry we ever received to film a wedding in another country and I remember thinking it would probably not amount to nothing, but of course, you still reply. To my shock, Emily replied within days and wanted to book us! We were thrilled but then the realisation kicked in and it dawned on us that it would be a little different to the usual weddings we film here in the UK. From a logistics standpoint, it was going to be a lot different so what stated planning our first destination wedding.

In September 2017 we landed at Bordeaux Airport and picked up our rental car and drove to Gensac where we stayed in the most amazing little Airbnb for the duration of our stay. If you find yourself in Gironde department in southwestern France and looking for somewhere to stay we can highly recommend Kestrel's Loft which is hosted by Debra - we loved the place and you won't be disappointed.

We arrived in France a couple of days early to play it safe in case of any misplaced baggage or delayed flights. That gave us some time to explore and be a tourist (perks of the job). We decided to visit the Chateau Rigaud the day before the wedding and meet Emma, who is the wedding planner and gave us a tour of the place.

It quickly became apparent why Emily and Nick choose to get married at Chateau Rigaud. Set in the heart of the Dordogne and surrounded by vineyards, the place is truly breathtaking. What made Emily and Nick's wedding extra special is that guests flew in a couple of days before to hang-out on the runup to the wedding. This gives the whole wedding that holiday vibe which is exactly what Nick and Emily wanted. Everyone gets the chance to relax, meet one another and enjoy some activities in the build-up to the big day.

A little backstory in Emily's words. Nick and I met at school when we were 15. The first time I clocked him was at a New Year's Eve party in 2000/2001 and I remember thinking that he was it. I asked him out. We have been together for nearly 17 years and we have been very much in love always. We decided to get married so that we could have a big party with all of the most important people in our lives.

A wedding in France is very different to one in the UK. There are almost no boundaries, no ceremony room walls to negotiate, beautiful light and everyone is so relaxed and ready to have a great time. Can we please film more weddings abroad?

We'd like to say a big thank you to Nick and Emily for booking us to film their wedding at Chateau Rigaud. It was such a fantastic day and the very best we could have hoped for. If you're looking for a videographer or photographer to shoot your wedding at the Chateau Rigaud we'd love to hear from you and have a chat about your day.

Kind Words

If you're looking for an exceptional videography team go no further! James and Kylie were not only a joy to have around on the day; professional, enthusiastic and thoughtful but they have produced the most stunning films of our wedding. Lots of my friends who were at the wedding work in film, tv and theatre and they were astonished by the films - the sound, lighting and picture quality are second to none (it's actually hard to know how they managed to capture all of the sounds so fantastically as I think a full sound crew could not do a better job) and the editing and storytelling of the film is so skilled.

James and Kylie are lovely people who are passionate about videography but, more than that, they are brilliant at what they do. I couldn't recommend them enough. The wait for our video was quite long but my feeling on that is it was simply because such a huge amount of care and attention goes into creating the films - they are not rushed off on masse. I should also say that, in terms of value for money, our wedding film was our best piece of expenditure across the entire wedding.

Thank you James and Kylie for giving us something so precious. We will treasure it always. Emily and Nick xx
