It’s always exciting to travel to different areas of the UK to film a wedding at a venue you’ve never been to before. When Joss and Arthur enquired about shooting their wedding day at Northbrook Park we were immediately captivated and intrigued. We couldn't wait to find out more about this hidden gem of a venue, as it was one we had never come across before in our years of experience. After a quick Google search, we were completely taken aback by how stunning and picturesque Northbrook Park is. The pictures on their website truly showcased its beauty and charm. How did Arthur & Joss meet?
We met in September 2012 at the UCL medics bar when Joss was working behind the bar and Arthur was finishing his medical degree. Having met in our early twenties, we’ve had the opportunity to grow up together. As far as ‘love stories’ are concerned, we don’t have a rom-com-worthy narrative, but we have thoughtful and meaningful gestures peppered throughout our relationship.
The wedding proposal:
In September 2018, two weeks after we moved into our current house, Arthur proposed in the garden (our very first garden). Arthur made sausage rolls set up a picnic, and had a bottle of champagne chilling in the fridge.
Why did you choose Northbrook Park and what makes it special to you?
Because Joss grew up in Australia, she’s a big fan of indoor-outdoor vibes and lots of natural light. When we started looking for a wedding venue, we were really keen on an orangery and the reception room at Northbrook Park was perfect for us. We also love the idea of garden games and an intimate space where family and friends from all around the world can meet. Northbrook Park has all of that - dedicated spaces for all the various parts of the wedding. A bright ceremony room, a small garden for the tea ceremony, a walled garden for the drinks reception, orangery for the reception, and onsite accommodation for the drunkards.
Please list 3 things that will be unique about your wedding at Northbrook Park.
1. A blend of British and Chinese traditions: the Chinese Tea Ceremony and the Yam Seng toast 2. An international mix of guests. In our bridal party & family alone we have representation from: England, Wales, Scotland, Australia, Singapore, America, and Germany 3. We’re having a ceilidh even though neither of us is Scottish (it’s just really fun)
What experience do you want to give to your guests at Northbrook Park?
We’d love for our family and friends to mix and get to know each other. It’s the only time in our lives this will happen. Experience-wise we want everyone to have lots of fun, whether playing croquet, hitting the bubbly, or dancing.
What part of the wedding day are you looking forward to the most at Northbrook Park?
Arthur: seeing Joss come down the aisle, the ceilidh Joss: the speeches and toasts, having everyone together
How did you find us to be your wedding videographer?
Why did you choose us to capture your day?: It was so long ago now we can’t remember how we found you! What we know is that we did A LOT of research and we loved your style of wedding videography.
