We had the incredible gift of filming Nick and Clare's emotional wedding day at the very idyllic Priston Mill, Bath, which is not too far from the city of Bristol in the West Country. The wedding ceremony was held at St John's Church in Bath. The City of Bath is renowned for its 18th century neo-classical architecture that dominates the city and attracts tourists from all over the world.
It was great to have the opportunity to film a wedding in the the centre of Bath as we usually find ourselves filming weddings out in the sticks in the middle of nowhere. After the ceremony finished we quickly visited Bath's delightful Parde Gardens with the very talented photographer, Joab Smith Photography, to get some shots of Clare and Nick before we left the city centre to head to the reception at Priston Mill. For those of you who aren't aware of this place check it out! It overlooks the River Avon and is the perfect backdrop to capture the Bride and Groom in the city centre of Bath. Even the tourists wanted to get involved and decided to take some photographs of their own.
Once at the reception, the sun finally broke through the clouds and the wedding day was in full swing at 18th-century Tyth Barn at Priston Mill. As the sun began to set we realised we needed to take advantage of the spectacular location and light. We grabbed the very willing Clare and Nick and headed off to a nearby field that overlooks the wedding venue. We was presented with one small problem... If we wanted to get to the field in the distance then we'd have to cross a stream. Considering it's their wedding day I had my doubts that Clare and Nick were going to be up for crossing a muddy stream. I was wrong; they said, "why not? Let's do it!" So the shoes came off, the trousers were rolled up and we crossed the muddy and surprisingly cold stream. Once we reached the top of the field we were rewarded for our efforts and captured some amazing moments of the two newlyweds together.
Clare and Nick finished the day off with some confetti canons and epic partying. We have to say it was pretty damn impressive and we were so glad we filmed it in slow motion! Thanks for the amazing action packed day.
